XIO – Intelligent Farming specializes in biofactory solutions for insect protein production and is a business unit of Sealing System A/S, one of the leading providers of packaging and palletizing solutions in Scandinavia.
XIO’s solutions range from individual logistics solutions installed directly at the farmer’s location, to pilot plants and industrial insect factories, where innovative technology and automation enable the production of insect protein on a large scale.
Intralogistics serves as the backbone for insect production facilities, and XIO – Intelligent Farming utilizes advanced technology and meticulous data tracking to optimize the rearing process, enabling efficient handling of tonnes of larvae daily. Black Soldier Fly larvae are commonly used in insect production because they grow very fast, scaling from 1 kg of eggs to 4000 kg of larvae in just 12 days. This rapid and substantial production of insect protein makes it vital to have solid and dependable transportation and logistics systems in place. By providing innovative technology, and automation for insect protein production, XIO supports this alternative protein source solutions for animal feed, on a larger scale.

ENORM Biofactory
Fully automated logistics solution with data tracking
XIO and Sealing System have been a huge part of the development at ENORM Biofactory - a soon to be fully functional insect factory, established on the basis of a comprehensive process of development and research. ENORM Biofactory is going to be Northern Europe’s first large-scale commercial insect factory. XIO and Sealing System have developed the internal logistics solution with data tracking for the 100 tonnes larvae a day insect production. Estimated to produce over 10,000 tonnes of Insect meal annually.
The Black Soldier Fly and Larvae (BSF & BSFL) are the farm animal of this site. Standing out as an astonishingly efficient protein source. They convert 25 kg of eggs into an impressive 100 tonnes of larvae in just 12 days. This process needs little energy, space, and water consumption per gram of protein, highlighting the efficiency aspect of the solution.
